Byla jednou jedna malá vesnička jménem Bělá pod Pradědem, která ležela na úpatí nádherného horského masivu. Vesnička byla obklopena bujnou přírodou a plná veselých obyvatel. Nejvíce však obyvatel lákalo nedaleké jezero, plné ryb a tajemství. V samém srdci vesničky stál starobylý dřevěný hostinec, nazvaný Rybářská bašta. Byl to oblíbené místo pro všechny, kteří se chtěli uchýlit do klidného a příjemného prostředí. Hostinec provozoval starý rybář Pan Hubert, který byl ve vesnici známý svoji neobyčejnou vlídností a pověstmi o jeho úlovku. Jednoho slunečného dne se do vesnice přiřítila zpráva, že Pan Hubert v Rybářské baště objevil zvláštní poklad – zlatou rybu. Lidé byli nadšení a plni zvědavosti se začali scházet právě u hostince, aby se dozvěděli více a někdo dokonce doufal, že by přišel na možnost vlastnoručně chytit tu neuvěřitelnou rybu. Pan Hubert je všechny přivítal s úsměvem a začal vyprávět. "Ráno jako každé jiné jsem se vydal na rybaření na naše krásné jezero. Po dlouhém čekání se udělalo ticho a já cítil, že něco speciálního se děje. A najednou jsem ji uviděl - rybu, která svítila zlatým zářem. Byla to zlatá ryba, která mi kývla ocasem a zmizela v hlubinách jezera. Ano, je to pravda, všechno!" Lidé zcela oparu důvěřovali starému rybáři a rychle se rozhodli, že mu pomohou zlatou rybu najít. Celá vesnice se spojila a vydala se na výpravu k jezeru. Všichni doufali, že se rybářská bašta stane ještě magičtějším místem. Po dlouhém putování se vesničané konečně dostali k jezeru. Stáli u jeho břehu a všichni tiše naslouchali. Tu najednou se ozvalo šplouchnutí a z jezera se vynořila krásná zlatá ryba. Byla to ztělesněná elegance a moudrost. Zlatá ryba promluvila: "Drahý Pan Huberte, tvoje laskavost mi neunikla a rozhodla jsem se, že ti poskytnu jeden přání. Co si přeješ, stačí jen říci." Pan Hubert se zamyslel a obrátil se ke svým přátelům a sousedům. "Mám všeho dost, co si moc přát? Ale vím, co je pro tuto vesnici nejlepší." A tak prohlásil: "Věnujte mi jen tu radost, že přeju si, aby Rybářská bašta stala místem, kde se lidé budou setkávat, sdílet radosti a starosti, a kde se bude cítit jako doma každý, kdo sem přijde." Po těchto slovech se zatřpytila voda a každý si uvědomil, že se jejich přání splnilo.
