Byla jednou jedna malá vesnice jménem Nižbor, ve které žila spokojená a pracovitá rodina. Otec byl truhlář a matka pekla nejlepší koláče ve vesnici. Jejich synové, Pepík a Honzík, právě dokončili studium a byli připraveni vstoupit do pracovního života. Jednoho dne přišel do vesnice kupec z vzdáleného kraje. Měl velký sen o otevření restaurace, která bude sloužit jako místo setkávání a zábavy pro všechny obyvatele vesnice. Kupec viděl potenciál v Nižboru a rozhodl se uskutečnit svůj sen.
