Solar Institute of Uzbekistan

Solar institute of Uzbekistan is located about 40 km eastward of Tashkent. There is solar furnace which uses more than ten thousands mirrors and big parabolic mirror concentrating solar beams to one point where the temperature can reach 3700 °C. There is probably not any material on Earth which can endure such a high temperature. One of the most resistant materials to the high temperature is Zirconium dioxide with melting point‎ ‎2715 °C. The power of the furnace is 1MW.
